You want to book your surf lesson and you don’t know which type of lesson to choose? We’ll help you choose the surf lesson that suits you best, taking into account the classes available at Arrifana Surf School.
Whether you have heard about group surf lessons, private surf lessons or even video analysis sessions, we will give you a short description of each one so you can know what to expect from your next in-water experience.
Group surf lessons
Have you ever imagined what it would be like to learn to surf, while meeting people from all over the world? If the idea of sharing the ocean and a surf lesson with new people excites you, then you should definitely try a group surf lesson.
In these lessons, with a maximum of 5 participants, you find a group of surfers who share your surfing level. These groups are formed according to the level of the participants: first-timer, beginner or intermediate.
This way, the group can evolve together, through the exercises and indications given by the surf instructor.
During the whole process, you live the group spirit together with the other participants and the surf instructor.
It is a fantastic opportunity to understand how surfing works as a community and what you can take from the experiences of each surfer you come across.
Private surf lessons
If you want a surf lesson to be your own experience, or for a small group of friends, we suggest private lessons.
Just for you
You’ll have an intensive lesson, with your surf instructor, who will be totally dedicated making sure you have the best surfing experience possible and that you make the most of this time to improve your surfing and your experience in the water.
Thanks to this proximity, it is possible to quickly identify what you need to correct in your surfing technique and we’ll start a specific work to meet your needs and goals.
Surfing with my friends
Your group of friends surfing in Arrifana with a surf instructor just for you: yes, it is possible.
If you want to schedule a surfing experience for you and your friends and make the most of this time together, private lessons allow you to have the support of a surf instructor who is totally focused on your goals, whether it be a surfing initiation or support for the evolution of your surfing level.
Family surfing experience
We receive more and more requests from parents who want to book private lessons to get the most out of this experience with their children.
Surfing with parents is a lot of fun and it is also a unique moment for children. In these family surf lessons, it is possible to notice that the younger children feel much safer with their parents while they receive all the monitoring and instructions from the instructor.
Whilst parents have fun and take advantage of this activity to decompress, it will also be one of the highlights of your child’s holidays when they can say they have surfed alongside their parents.
Video analysis / surf guiding
If you are an advanced surfer and you want to polish your surfing technique, then these sessions are for you.
Video analysis is being used more and more often to correct technical mistakes that prevent you from improving or performing manoeuvres. In these sessions, you will have the support of a surf instructor, who will take you to get to know the best surf spots in the region.
With his accompaniment, during 4 hours, you will have the necessary help in choosing the best spot to surf, an explanation of the characteristics of the place, as well as the video capture of your surf session and its subsequent analysis.
Thanks to the videos of your surf session and their analysis, you will be able to “see from the outside” what happens while you are on your board.
With this information, you get a clear image of what you are doing while you are surfing, which would be practically impossible to obtain when you are on your board enjoying the moment.
Now that you know more about our lessons and what to expect from each one, book your lesson or let us know any questions you may have.
